Phyllis Saroff is both an illustrator and fine artist. She illustrates children’s books, magazines and scientific wildlife pieces, and exhibits her fine art at McBride Gallery in Annapolis, Maryland. She feels fortunate to be able to paint what she loves, and it shows in her work. She often says that she benefited from excellent teachers and a father who made sure she could become an artist. For Signal’s Airport Adventure, she drew upon fond memories of the tabby cats from her childhood to capture Signal’s, Telegraph’s, and Auntie Annie’s characters and personalities.
